Since arriving on the island I’ve been keeping a close eye out for any marine mammals or otters that might be around (I would especially like to see an otter).
During one of my lunch breaks last week, there were crowds of people alongside the waterfront. There was a small group of dolphins playing in the bay. It was amazing watching them jump clear out of the water, splashing their tails and slapping the water with their bodies and fins.
Despite the fact that they were so close and doing a lot of acrobatics, I didn’t manage to get a picture. The small ripple just off centre and next to the pink buoy, is all the evidence I captured that they were even there.
I will definitely try again, I’m sure there will be other chances.
